A memorable journey of West African musical culture that lets
students share in a creative learning experience. We usually
deliver a mix of drumming, dancing and singing, but we’re
always adaptable and can tailor our session to your request.

  • Students learn about the traditional instruments and how to play them.
  • Students learn accessible traditional songs and rhythms.
  • Sessions are inclusive regardless of age, ability or background.
  • Mindfulness and stress relieving benefits.
  • healthy physical activity that also stimulates cognitive function.
  • Promotes communication, social skills and team work.

Popular formats:

  • Single sessions
  • 4 week – full term Programmes
  • Staff team builders
  • Whole school events, fetes and more. We bring African drums for everyone and tailor our sessions according to learning capabilities for different age groups.

Single Sessions

Include drum, dance and song, though we can easily adapt to suit your specifications. All of our facilitators are experienced and unique performers. We kick off with a short performance, getting everyone excited about the music. We then move into drumming, teaching African rhythms and musical games.

Programmes

Maximise learning outcomes with a 4 week to full term Programme, suitable for all ages. We develop the ensemble, practise technique and dexterity, add songs, and build towards a high-energy student concert, offering students the chance to learn an instrument, be part of a group in a meaningful way, and nurture their confidence. Showcasing their piece at a school concert at the end of the Programme provides an important sense of accomplishment.

"It was absolutely amazing and the children haven’t stopped talking about it!!!
I was so impressed by how involved our younger group was and have not seen them so focused through an in-service visit before.
We will definitely be having you back next year!"

    Wingate Avenue Children's Cooperative

"Just wanted to let you know that our students throughly enjoyed our drumming experience. Jess and Mohamed were wonderful with the students - engaging, friendly and encouraging. It was amazing to watch the faces of the students as they participated and were totally immersed in the experience. Some of our special needs. who sometimes struggle with new experiences, absolutely loved joining in and felt successful in playing the drums with their peers."

    St Francis Xavier

"It was absolutely amazing. All the children were engaged, even those who don't have music on the top of their list, or struggle with a different environment.
Kofi and Appiah were brilliant, and got the children on board from the word go. All the other teachers there were blown away, as was I. I also received a lot of positive feedback from the classroom teachers saying how excited the children were when they came back"

    St.Anne's Primary

"This was our second session in 2 years, and it was amazing. Aflah’s passion and energy is contagious, and he had all the students singing, dancing and drumming, even if they’re more shy or quiet. We absolutely love these sessions! Thanks for your help organising, and please pass on our sincerest thanks to Aflah for a truly memorable experience for our students."

    Mypolonga Primary School

"It was just great! Bouba was so good with the kids and challenged them not to give in...which is what I'm working on with them. The energy of the whole class shifted so dramatically from the beginning to the end...it was amazing! He structured it beautifully: drumming/dance and then an informative insight into West Africa and the way of life, traditions...etc."

    Hoa Nghiem Primary School

"The sessions were both amazing. The students got so much out of it and Bouba was an amazing facilitator. He was funny, caring and a great entertainer. We did some writing about it after and the kids produced their best recounts of the year!"
