The quintessential Arabic drum, the Darbuka can be found from Morocco to Pakistan. Light yet powerful, the thin, responsive drumhead and resonance help it produce a distinctively crisp sound. It is typically played while held under one arm. Well suited for high-pitched snapping sounds as well as a wide range of articulated doum and tak strokes.
