Banana Bells

These forged iron bells—traditionally known as Atoke—are essential time-keeping instruments in Ewe music from Ghana. Similar in role to the Agogo, they are played by cradling the bell in one hand and striking it with the other. The tone changes depending on where it’s hit, making them great for dynamic rhythms and textures.
